Intrinsyc Demos Next Generation Feature Phone Software Platform at 3GSM World Congress 2006
Previews of Soleus™, world's first Microsoft® Windows™ CE-based mobile handset platform pre-integrated on industry-leading silicon
3GSM World Congress, Barcelona, Spain – February 14, 2006 – Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS) a mobility software and services company today announced the availability of a turn-key development system for multimedia centric mobile handsets. The development system combines Intrinsyc's Soleus™ feature phone software platform, based on Microsoft® Windows CE™, and Freescale Semiconductor's high performance i.MX31 and i.MX31L multimedia applications processors. Together they facilitate rapid handset design in a feature-rich platform supporting a seamless transition to future single-core phone designs based on Freescale's platforms.
Demonstrations of Soleus™ running on Freescale's i.MX31 and i.MX31L can be viewed throughout the 3GSM World Congress at Intrinsyc's stand, G16 in Hall 2, and at the Freescale Semiconductor stand, B37 in Hall 8.
Soleus offers a new way to develop feature phones, allowing network operators and mobile phone manufacturers complete flexibility to build phones and customize them for target customer segments. At the heart of Soleus is a rich set of built-in applications including calendar, camera, contacts, dialer, file manager, media player, and phone settings that can be quickly tailored to dramatically reduce time to market. The Freescale i.MX31 multimedia applications processors are an ideal foundation for maximizing and optimizing use of such compelling mobile phone applications. Soleus offers a complete development system for building feature phones when combined with Freescale application and wireless platform technologies such as the i.MX31 processors or the MXC300-30 3G platform.
